Clean and Green RGIP Committee

With the large number of industries located in RGIP and the consequent high number of employees and support staff visiting RGIP, the IT Park has its share of environmental problems. RGIP has large number of vehicles moving about within its periphery.Buses for commute of local population and employees, trucks carrying construction material in an ever-growing IT park, earth movers and cement mixers for construction activities, and the large number of personal vehicles make RGIP an area of gross pollution. About 2 lakh vehicles enter the IT park on a daily basis causing large scale air-pollution. To cater to this large number of people, there is the requirement of administrative shops, restaurants and road side eateries that have mushroomed creating increased garbage in the IT Park. To mitigate these problems, the Clean and Green Sub Committee concerns itself with the dual role – first, that of ensuring the roads and open spaces are kept clean of garbage through regular removal and disposal, and second, to ensure the area has adequate greenery for clean air. This is done through regular tree plantation drives and maintenance of the trees planted. Towards promotion of pollution free environment, awareness events like cyclothon, marathon, walkathon etc. are also conducted. The volunteers who have opted to sacrifice their personal time for the sake of RGIP and its environment, continue to be in the forefront of this Sub Committee.
