The pilot project commenced with 13 buses on four routes with a frequency of six buses on each route and 500 commuters. Over the last two years, it has reached a scale of 99 buses, carrying more than 5000 employees daily on 44 routes with about 350 trips covering the entire city of Pune and its surrounding areas of PCMC and Cantonment. The web portals for registration, selection of routes, using payment gateway and the GPS system for tracking of the buses of the MetroZip services are the key technology drivers towards making the commute smooth and comfortable for the employees of HIA member companies.

The 100th bus of Metrozip and the two new services Metrozip Green and Metrozip Delight were flagged off on 18 Aug 2016 at the hands of Smt. Supriyatai Sule, Honorable Member of Parliament and in the presence of host of dignitaries along with employees of HIA member companies.

Mr Anil Patwardhan, President, HIA during his address highlighted the growth of Metrozip over the past two years and was enthusiastic that the two new services in the Metrozip family would go a long way in providing safe and dependable transportation to the employees and in alleviating the traffic congestion at RGIP to a great extent.
